Where do I download Duo Trackpad?

Duo Trackpad is available on the App Store for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. The listing is named Remote Mouse by Duo Trackpad. Open the same listing on each device to install its app.

Do I need to install an app on my Mac too?

Yes. Install Duo Trackpad on your Mac as well as your iPhone or iPad. The Mac companion runs in the menu bar and receives pointer and gesture input. Keep it running while you use the touch surface on your iPhone or iPad.

Which devices and system versions do I need?

You need an iPhone running iOS 26 or later, or an iPad running iPadOS 26 or later, together with a Mac running macOS 26 or later. Sign in to the same personal iCloud account on both devices.

Do I need the same iCloud account?

Yes. Sign in to the same personal iCloud account on both devices so Duo can securely connect them. Pointer input then travels over the selected connection between your devices.

Which permissions do I need to allow?

Follow the Mac companion's setup prompts to grant pointer-control access in System Settings, and restart the receiver if prompted. Allow Bluetooth or Local Network access for the connection methods you want to use.

How do my devices connect?

Duo Trackpad automatically chooses among available Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and USB network connections. It also works when your Mac uses your iPhone's Personal Hotspot. USB requires your devices to expose a USB network connection; available paths depend on your device and system setup.

What should I check if my Mac does not connect or the pointer does not move?

Make sure Duo Trackpad is open on both devices, the Mac companion is running in the menu bar, and both devices use the same personal iCloud account. Check the connection permissions on both devices and pointer-control access on your Mac. Restart the Mac receiver if its setup prompts ask you to, then use the connection indicator to inspect the active path or reconnect.

Which gestures work?

Pointer movement, clicking, two-finger scrolling, drag, page swipes, four-finger Mac shortcuts, and supported app pinch zoom. Some shortcuts and zoom behavior depend on macOS and the app you're using.

Does this only work on the iPhone Duo?

No. Duo Trackpad works on any iPhone running iOS 26 or later and any iPad running iPadOS 26 or later, paired with a Mac running macOS 26 or later. The touch surface and Quick Action layout adapt to your screen, and the iPad app also works in a window alongside your other apps.
