Privacy Policy
Duo Trackpad is provided by CoreBits LLC. It turns an iPhone or iPad into a touch surface for a Mac. This policy explains what the apps use to connect, what stays on your devices, and what limited usage data is sent to our analytics provider. For questions, please contact CoreBits.
Connecting your devices
Duo Trackpad uses Bluetooth, your local network, or an available USB network connection to find and connect your devices. It uses a randomly generated key stored in your personal iCloud account to establish trust between the iPhone or iPad app and the Mac receiver. Both devices must be signed in to the same iCloud account. Apple provides that storage; CoreBits does not use the key as an analytics identifier.
Touch and pointer input
While connected, the device app sends pointer and gesture commands to the selected Mac receiver. The Mac app uses these commands to move the pointer and perform clicks or supported gestures. Duo Trackpad does not need access to the contents of your Mac screen or the text you type. The connection is authenticated and encrypted.
Data kept on your devices
The apps save connection choices and preferences locally. The Mac app also keeps bounded diagnostic records about connection timing and pointer movement to help investigate input problems; these records can include relative motion and timestamps. They are not automatically uploaded as diagnostic files. If you choose to share them with support, they become part of that support request.
Usage analytics
We use TelemetryDeck to understand setup, connection quality, feature use, and app reliability. Events can include an anonymized app installation identifier; app, device, and operating-system details; selected connection type; settings choices; and aggregated counts and timing measurements. We do not send raw touch coordinates, screen contents, typed text, or the iCloud trust key to TelemetryDeck.
Your choices and questions
You can change Bluetooth, Local Network, iCloud, and Mac pointer-control access in system settings. Restricting access may prevent Duo Trackpad from connecting or controlling the Mac. To ask a privacy question or request help with data associated with the app, please contact CoreBits.
